Parenthetical Notes

Do not document facts and ideas in one-page papers. Your identification (author, title, date) of article in your introductory paragraph tells readers where the info is from. HOWEVER, whenever you quote, you must identify the page where the quotation appears. And, of course, the quotation must be 100 percent accurate.

Using Databases

This 10-minute voice-over video shows how to find articles listed in the course calendar.  Remember that articles available only through ILL will be posted on the course website. If they are not, it is students’ job to remind the instructor in a timely manner.

The video also includes a couple of tips for when students read articles in preparation for discussion and papers.
